So at the beginning of the year I set a goal to read 24 books this year. For some of you that might not seem like that big of a goal. For me it seemed like a goal that I would be able to accomplish. Well life happened and it was looking like I wouldn't reach my goal. My loving wife suggested that I read some small books to get caught up and be able to meet my goal. After all a book is a book, and I didn't say how big the books had to be. I started listing the books that I read to my kids at bedtime. Is that cheating? After all it is a book, and I did read it. As of today I need to read 2 more books to reach my goal of 24 books read this year. With my new tactic I'm pretty sure I'm make it. Maybe next year I'll set a goal of 200 books and log all the books that I read to my kids. What do you think?
See my 2012 reading challenge works out.

Way to stick to your goal Chad! Your so awesome. By the way I was just looking at your book self and saw The giver That is my favorite book. But I wanted to tell you that she just wrote a 4th book to that series. Its called Son. I havent read it yet I am reading the Hobbit but you should look it up. Anyway I miss you guys hope all is well.
Thanks Katy.
When I read the Giver years ago I didn't even know that it was part of a series. I just found out a couple weeks ago when I was ordering books from Scholastic. I've ordered Gathering Blue, and Messenger, and still need to order Son. I'm also going to start another series by Ally Condie that looks similar to the Giver series. I checked out the first book, Matched, from the library.
I'm so proud of you Chad for sticking to your goal. What an accomplishment! I know how busy we get and my never ending "honey do list" gets in your way. But good job! I love you.
