New Decals

I sure am glad that Carey wanted to buy a vinyl cutter. It is such a fun toy. Here are a couple of new decals on my truck. The wilwood sticker I got from my brother at Tripnozzi Muscle Cars.

Here is a picture of the antenna bar that my brother and I built for my truck. Mounted I have my Yaesu ATAS-120, Firestick CB, and 80 meter Hamstick. I have made a couple of HF contacts since finishing this project. I still need to get my hamstick working. I think the whip was trimed to short, I got it used.

My First HF Contact

Last night I got my Yaesu FT-857D and ATAS 120 hooked up. I went to 20 Meters, and tuned in a guy in LA, CA. He sounded like he was next door. I called for him and to my surprise I had everything hooked up and working properly, he could hear me. Thanks to W6VA for my first HF contact.

Good News

I passed my General Exam at the Idaho State Convention. And my new license came in the Mail this week. I've been working on getting my HF radio hooked up. I bought an ATAS 120 to go with the FT-857D that I won a year ago.This past week my brother and I built a bar to mount my ATAS 120, 80 Meter Hamstick and a CB antenna on, painted it and installed it. I got the antenna mounts and antennas on and got the coax ran. Now I need to run the power cables, mount the antenna switch, mount the radio, run the separation kit and play!
